Rather than occupying a single universe, these stories span the imagination. They unfold on this planet, in this time, but also wander away from here and then. Each new travel has something to say about our own human-ness, about us in nature, about these spaces in which we are home, and others where we couldn't possible be.

Whether it is a small girl who carries an orchard on her back, or a world beset by horrible little creatures feeding upon a cultivated population or a local barista gifting an old spider-woman her dream train-ride, there is something to speak to every reader within the pages, some small bit of understanding for those who seem alien, sometimes literally.
