These stories don’t represent a single universe, wandering here and there, on this planet, in this time, but also beyond both of those. They exist separately from each other, told in different voices, from different lives, different lands and times, but they all have something to say about our own human-ness, about our involvement with nature, about the environments and communities which we call home.

Whether it is a small girl who carries an orchard on her back, an old spider-woman gifted her dream train-ride by her local barista, or a world beset by horrible little creatures feeding upon a cultivated population, everyone can find a bit of themselves within the pages, along with a bit of understanding for those who seem so alien, sometimes literally.
